Welcome to Artful Soul Care

“Christian counseling with Lisa Tarplee for individuals 15 and up seeking to make sense of their stories and the experiences that have shaped them.”

An invitation to heal

You don’t have to carry your burdens alone.

Whether you’re feeling weighed down by anxiety, navigating the effects of trauma, grieving a significant loss, or simply longing for a place to breathe, I invite you to come as you are. Therapy is not about having all the answers—it’s about creating a safe space to explore your story, discover new ways of healing, and move toward the life you desire.

At Artful Soul Care, I believe healing happens through compassionate connection, thoughtful reflection, and evidence-based care. Together, we’ll honor where you’ve been, gently explore where you are today, and take meaningful steps toward hope, wholeness, and lasting change.

When you’re ready, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Meet Lisa

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs, drawing from evidence-based practices and a Biblical foundation while creating space for curiosity, reflection, and hope.

Grounded in a Christian worldview, I recognize the inherent dignity, worth, and value of every person. Additionally, I deeply respect each client’s beliefs, values, and life experiences. Whether faith is central to your life, something you’re questioning, or not central to your story, you will be welcomed with compassion and without judgment.

I also utilize EMDR, attachment-informed therapy, nervous system regulation, and expressive arts. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels safe, helping you move beyond survival toward greater healing, resilience, and hope.

When Words Aren’t Enough

Sometimes we cannot find words to communicate how we feel or what we have experienced. Expressive arts activities often provide deeper insight and help us access places in need of healing. Creativity can become another language—one that helps you voice emotions, memories, and experiences that may be hard to express through conversation alone. In doing so, it often brings joy and hope.

You don’t need to be “artistic” to benefit. It isn’t about talent or making something beautiful; it’s about curiosity, expression, and discovering new ways to understand your story. Creative practices are always an invitation, never an expectation.

Together, we’ll discover the approaches that best support your healing and work at a pace that fits best for you.

Nurturing hope and healing

by creating space to explore your story through a variety of life struggles.

Anxiety & OCD

When your mind never seems to quiet down, even simple decisions can feel exhausting. Whether you live with persistent anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or compulsive behaviors, I hope to help you find greater peace, understand what fuels your fears, and develop adaptive ways of responding. Together we’ll work toward a life guided less by fear and more by freedom.

Depression & Loneliness

Depression often leaves people feeling disconnected from others and from themselves. You may feel numb, overwhelmed, or exhausted from carrying life alone. I offer a safe place to rediscover hope, reconnect with your strengths, and begin moving toward a life that feels meaningful again.

Life Transitions

Change can be both exciting and unsettling. Whether you’re navigating college, career changes, family changes or another unexpected season, transitions often stir questions about identity, purpose, and the future. I will provide space to process these changes with compassion and clarity.

Trauma and Complex Trauma

Painful experiences sometimes shape the way you think, feel, and relate to others long after the events have passed. Together we’ll gently explore your story to help your mind and body heal. My goal is to help you move beyond simply surviving toward experiencing greater safety, connection, and hope.

Grief and Loss

Loss changes us. Whether you’re grieving the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a dream that didn’t unfold as hoped, or another significant life change, grief deserves compassionate space. I will honor your grief and walk with you as you carry your loss while moving toward healing and hope.

Relationship Challenges

Relationships can be great sources of joy and often also bring pain. Whether you’re struggling with communication, boundaries, family conflict, or trust, I hope to help you understand yourself more deeply and foster compassion that leads to authentic connection and enriching relationships.

“The way through suffering is not to deny it, but to live fully in the midst of it.”
